Abstract. Fly ash is a potential source of highly reactive feedstock for carbon dioxide (CO 2) mineral carbonation. In this chapter, the importance, advantages, and challenges of using fly ash as a feedstock for CO 2 mineralization are introduced. The physico-chemical properties of fly ash and their effects on carbonation performance, as well as the property changes after carbonation, are reviewed.
